CTM Professional Services: Software-Driven Cloud Networking Solutions for the Next Generation

Follow CTM Professional Services on :

With SDN, networking finally enters the on-demand and cloud era by embracing software, virtualization, programmability, and automation. It has evolved from an academic concept into an industry-driven paradigm that is being productized by innovative networking vendors. However, amongst the pool of vendors in the market, the crucial factor that differentiates the cream of the crop from the rest is the right understanding of the SDN technology and the methodology employed to deploy it. That is the reason for many in the tech circles, Melbourne based CTM Professional Services—a leading global IT service provider that specializes in delivering SDN technology-oriented solutions for the enterprise, government, and commercial customers, is their go-to partner of choice. “What’s unique is our methodology. Our solutions are customer and outcome focused,” says Alan Tran, Director of Technical Services—Network and Security at CTM Professional Services.

CTM Professional Services achieves greater efficiencies and economies of scale because it has a single focus on SDN. The Professional Services firm offers a range of technical services to suit each customer’s needs. The team at CTM invests appropriate time in consulting and understanding the requirements of its clients. The firm collaborates with two strategic partners, Arista, and Forcepoint, who are the leaders in Networking and Security. By aligning the consultation with its technology partners, CTM builds and manages the solutions.

The firm implements solutions that run on basic commands, and by adding an orchestration overlay on top, it makes the system easier to understand and maintain. From a security perspective, the solutions allow visibility into cloud-based traffic, and its design focuses on infrastructure as well as tracks user’s activity and determines risk ratings for such users.

What’s unique is our methodology, and our solutions are customer and outcome focused

CTM’s solutions being cognitive allow tracking end-user activity in real time and by applying a single policy across the entire infrastructure; users can be alerted and warned if they accidentally access restricted data. For any project, CTM offers end-to-end solutions and ensures a short period for migration. For a client taking the digital transformation route, moving to a hybrid cloud system with a resilient and secure network can reduce the total cost of ownership. Post-project completion, CTM further offers support to assist the staff in getting more familiar with the solution or technology.

To demonstrate the prowess of the company Alan Tran gives the example of CTM's collaboration with Afterpay, one of Australia’s fastest growing companies, who at that point was dealing with several networking challenges as well as planning to get its applications and infrastructure up to the cloud without affecting its users or customers. CTM performed a complete business analysis and built a strong network that was resilient enough to migrate them into the cloud quickly and set the foundations for its rapid growth across the globe.

While Afterpay was experiencing a great amount of growth, it needed to move away from its old legacy platforms and environments. CTM built two brand new data centers and three new office locations with full cloud capabilities in less than six months, something our customer is content with.

In the near future, CTM plans to expand globally. The firm will set up its first global office in the UK. From a solutions standpoint, CTM will continue to deliver the simplest solutions based on new technologies and software releases. “We will maintain our skillset in this particular solution because we believe that our strategic alliance today is the only one of its kind in the market,” concludes Alan Tran.
